The Meaning

The Jackson Street Ministry is a ministry I served in for a short season while in Mississippi. It opened my sheltered eyes to a world I chose to ignore for so long. From the despondent with no hope to those who had nothing but whose faith in Christ was strong, the experience was life changing. This ministry needs no money, instead it responds with love to those on the streets with no home and limited possibilities by offering a listening ear and a caring heart. If you are ever in the area, take the time to participate in the Wednesday outreach program on the streets.

God's Homeless Haven is a non-profit and needs donations. For a season in Mississippi, I had the honor as a brother in Christ to work with Bridgett Macklin, the director. Her heart for God is truly humbling. She tirelessly works for the oppressed, forgotten, and down and out homeless in Jackson. Her shelter is a safe haven for women and children and is located by her church, New Jerusalem in Byram, Mississippi. Not only does she and her church provide shelter, they provide spiritual guidance to those who come through the doors. From this experience, I learned what it truly means to love, although I must admit I probably failed in many regards, but thankfully and as usual, God used my failures to grow me. Please send any financial donations to: God's Homeless Haven, P.O. Box 720029, Byram, MS 39272.

This website is a portal to overseas mission work that provides training to pastors and church leadership. Their efforts are leading to the equipping of pastors in foreign lands who can then spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. I personally know of Larry Nees who travels to Asian countries often and whose heart is to equip those who can then spread the sweet news of Christ. Any time spent around Larry Nees is time worthwhile.

This website provides some insight into China and the movement called Back to Jerusalem. In a land where Christians are oppressed and sometimes still persecuted, this website offers a unique perspective regarding the spread of the gospel back to jerusalem.

Even though I no longer live in Johnson City, I find my soul still receives nourishment from Grace Fellowship Church. While hiking in Hungry Mother Park in Marion, Virginia, no doubt you will find me with headphones in, listening to Tom Oyler. Tom's teaching style is filled with humility, honesty in his own walk and wisdom beyond my years. If you have a chance, I encourage you to click the link below and listen.
